STEM: Why it’s fun, how it teaches life skills, plus it’s where the future jobs are.

First Lego League and Science Fairs: They’re both opportunities for students to learn about science, the scientific method, and discover their unique abilities to solve

problems. But they’re also a chance to have fun! To connect with others, to explore their talents, learn to work with team members, and improve the communication skills that will help

them to be successful in life. And for you parents out there – STEM careers ARE WHERE THE FUTURE JOBS ARE. (And they’re not low-paying jobs.)

I had the opportunity to talk with Mayo Clinic Software Engineer Mark Schleusner, and Rochester Regional Science Fair Director Roger Larsen.
